News - Family Helpers Project

Family Rescue Foundation has over 100 extremely poor families in need of emergency support. All of these families are in rural community areas which are part of our outreach. Some of the households are led by elderly men and women with grandchildren living in sheds, most of which have lost parents to HIV/AIDS.

How to Help A Needy Family

Through FRF you can donate money to construct a house or shelter. A simple two bedroom house with a living room and a water tank costs $5000 UGX. All updates and reports will be submitted to the donor by the FRF team. A house can be finished in 6 weeks after the full donation amount has been received. Most of these families own the land but needs support to have a house which can accomodate up to ten people.

Other Ways to Help

There are additional ways to help families in need such as the Send a Cow project. By donating $600 USD to FRF, a local crossbreed cow will be purchased and given to a selected needy family. The family will be responsible of taking good care of the cow and FRF will monitor it's care and condition then report those details to the donor. A local crossbreed cow can produce 7 liters of milk per day and each liter costs 1200 UGX (less than $1 USD). This family can drink and sell some of the milk to fellow villagers for incoming currency for other expenses. Most families in rural areas can afford to maintain a cow.

About 500 families are on waiting donations for this project. You can donate as many cows as you'd like, all of which will be a great blessing to a family in need. Updates and reports will be given to you by FRF field team. Contact us.

Other donated items we gladly accept include medicines, clothes, mattresses, blankets, food products, bicycles, wheel barrows, motorcycles, solar panels, plastic water tanks, chicks, goats and piglets.
